Threshold: The minimum concentration of a substance required to experience a taste sensation as a substance. Sucrose (sweet) at room temperature is 0.1%, sodium chloride (salty) 0.05%, citric acid (sour) 0.0025%, quinine sulfate (bitter) 0.0001%.
According to the different measurement methods of the threshold, the threshold can be divided into:
Absolute threshold: refers to the amount of stimulation that a person can feel the taste of a substance from scratch.
Difference Threshold: Refers to the difference in the amount of stimulus that a person perceives a significant difference in the taste of a substance.
Final Threshold: Refers to the amount of stimulation that people feel that the stimulus of a certain substance does not increase with the increase of the stimulus amount.
